We had a nice lie in on day 7 and caught 10:45 bus into Odense.
After arriving at the bus station we picked up a new mascot. Since we thought the hat wasn’t quite good enough. It will be featured in some of the photos going forward. And is still to be named
We then made our way through Odense to visit its most famous resident the fairy tale author Hans Christian Andersen
We went to his birthplace took and interactive audio tour around the museum learning about HCA’s life and works, who knew the little mermaid was so dark before Disney turned up. We then followed up with visiting his childhood home before heading off for some lunch.
For lunch we decided to sample the different items from a Danish McDonalds
They were alright but nothing to write home about.
After lunch we went to the Danish scout shop Spejder sport, and spent waaayy to much money in there. But we learnt that it is owned by the DDS and all profits go back into supporting Danish scouting so it would have been rude not to buy anything, plus they gave us the 10% scout discount since we are scouts.
We then went to the free harbour swimming pool, mainly to use the showers but also to cool off in the pool for a bit.
We then caught the bus back and went via the Rema 1000 to pick up steak for dinner which Reece expertly cooked to a perfect medium rare.
We the hit the hay ready to explore Odense again tomorrow.

What is that hat Tom???!
Love it,
