Day 6 was kicked off with a 5:30am start in order to try and catch a bus. Spoilers, we missed it. We walked into the small village nearby in order to catch the next bus into Kolding so we could get the train back up to Skanderborg ready to re attemp the highest point. So after taking a packed train up to Skanderborg we were again met with the bus thats not a bus but is technically a bus, i.e we had to ask for it to stop an hour before the scheduled time. So after speaking with the kind people on the phone we managed to get the bus up to Tebstrup.
We arrived in Tebstrup and began our 40 minute yomp, in the rather warm conditions, up to Møllehoj which is the highest natural peak in Denmark.
There are 2 other peaks which have been in contest of this height but over time and with more modern technology they have been proven to be that little bit smaller.
After visiting one, we did the second peak which was a 5 min walk away and had a little gift shop were we got some souvenirs and an Ice cream. Dan’s foot was causing him some pain by this point so it was decided to try and alter the pick up point of the bus, which after several phone calls to the bus people some of which were very unhelpful we got through to a lovely lady who changed the pick up point to the car park of the second highest point in Denmark.
We then got back to Skanderborg station to catch our trains down to Odense to then get the bus out to Sønderso to meet with out hosts for then next couple of days.
We arrived at Frie Fugle and were greeted with dinner and a tour of the site by Anders and John who sat down with us and chatted about all the things we get up to in scouting.
Even though branches of scouting are slightly different it was good to see that we still have a lot of our core values in common and the satisfaction of teaching young people new skills.
We headed to bed quite early as we were all knackered and had decided to have a bit of a lie in the next day.

Nice hat Tom 😉
