We had an early start to day 4 as we needed to make the 9.20 train from Thyregod. So after packing dew damp tents away we set off on our predicted 1hr and a half hike to the station.
We have no clue how google works out their walking pace but it doesn’t quite compare to 4 hungry lads with a deadline to meet. So having covered 7.1Km in about and hour and 10 minutes we made it to the station ready to catch the train into Kolding.
We arrived in Kolding and made a beeline to a lovely little bakery. We had a variety of pastries, croissants, kanel snegle and many more to give us the energy we needed to explore Kolding.
The main focus of our exploration was Koldinghus. Koldinghus has a long and varied history but most notably was a project of king Christian IV. It also houses a collection of dresses made for and worn by HRH Princess Benedikte, an award winning blend of historic ruins and modern architecture by architects Inger and Johannes Exner and the Flora Danica, the huge floral service set used by the royal family which depicts all the flowers found throughout Denmark and Scandinavia.
After exploring the castle we hopped on the bus and travelled up to Houens Odde.
We had a lovely chicken curry for dinner and a beautiful view of the sunset over the sea. We turned in for the night to regain some energy ready for our volunteering shift in the morning.

Glad your all eating well and trying the local food.
