How & Why

How, on foot, kayak, bike or dinghy plus a bit of bussing and the odd train too.

Why, to immerse ourselves in Danish culture and meet as many people and scouts along the way.

Where & When

To start out journey we land in Aarhus a city in the north east of Jutland, we will explore Aarhus for a bit and then make our way to the first campsite in Kulso, we hope to meet some other scouts who are on camp and learn about what they do differently or similarly to us over in the UK.

We then continue our travels down to Houens Odde, the national scout site for Denmark, with Houens Odde as a base whe will pop down to Legoland (because, When in Rome) and learn about how the simple brick from Denmark has become the globally recognised childrens (and adult) toy by exploring their interactive exhibits.

From Houens Odde we go island hopping, heading over to the island of Funen staying over at a site in Sonderso. We will be staying with a different branch of the Danish Scouts, De Gule Spejdere (The Yellow Scouts) which are a more traditional branch of Scouting and learn about their way of scouting. we will then explore the city of Odense, which is the largest city on Funen, and learn more about the culture and traditions of Denmark.

Our last leg takes us to the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, where we are stopping over in Vassingerod at the hut of 1st Lillerod and Palnatoke scout groups. we will use this as a base to spend some time in Copenhagen before jetting off back to the UK.
